MeteoTracker is a low-cost, high-accuracy system for mobile acquisition and tracking of weather data, potentially transforming any vehicle in a traveling weather station. MeteoTracker consists of a multi-sensor to be installed externally on a vehicle, an APP mobile and a WEB platform and performs spatially continuous weather data acquisition, addressing the severe limitation of the standard fixed weather stations network, whose spatial undersampling does not allow the even more demanded high-resolution weather and climate characterization.
WHAT IS METEOTRACKER
MeteoTracker is currently completing the field-test phase and several hundreds thousand of weather-points have already been collected. Temperature variation ratios as strong as 8.4° over 400 m distance (South-East Sardinia, July 7th 2019) and 5.7° over 280 m distance (Munich region, April 21st) and other very interesting hyper-local effect (see and river breeze, strong adiabatic temperature shift from on mountain side to the other, etc...) have been measured.
Road-management, energy management, smart-city, meteorological research, drone-based weather data collection are some of the possible fields where MeteoTracker can provide an important source of weather knwoledge.

Compact and light, instantly installed externally to a veichle by magnets, the MT multi-sensor allows very fast and accurate measurements thanks to a patent-pending system for solar radiation error correction, based on a differential approach to air temperature measurement.
The MT APP collects and geo-tags weather-data acquired every x meter (x ranging from 1 m to 200 m, according to user preferences) and sends them to the cloud, while real-time visualized on the smartphone display. Also, the MT APP performs archive management and visualization by advanced map and graph based tools.
The MT WEB platform manages the database operations and provides the user with an easy-to-use front-end interface for real-time/archive data visualization. Advanced tools for map/graph-based analysis give the user a complete set for maximazing the value extraction from MT personal and pubblic data collection.

The MeteoTracker multi-sensor is featured with a patent-pending system for preserve hugh-accuracy even under strong solar radiation while keeping sensins elements full exposure to ventilation in order to get very fast measurement time, which is essential to correctly mapping the thermal profile of a parameter, like air-temperature, that may have very high spatial variation ratio.
MeteoTracker measured up to 9° of variation over a distance less than 400 m .
Realt-time visualization, both on map and Street View framework, is a feature of the WEB platform that allows to real-time visualize the exact place where the weather data are measured
The MeteoTracker APP allows photo-capture tagged with weather data measured in that spot.
So, every MeteoTracker can be turned in a photo-album rich of weather and visual information
